Crews fight 4th alarm fire 08/12

At approximately 5:15 this morning, Stayton Fire crews were dispatched to a garaged fire, which was immediately next to an office building. Callers reported flames shooting out and explosions. When command arrived shortly after, the fire had spread to the office building. Additional alarm assignments were called to bring in additional resources and eventually a 4th alarm was reached based on the size and scope of the fire. The fire was deemed under control at around 6:38, but crews remained on scene working to extinguish hot-spots and complete overhaul operations. The office building has received extensive damage and as with all working fires, investigators are on scene working. We would like to thank the agencies who provided assistance on this call, they were the Sublimity Fire District, Aumsville Rural Fire District, Turner Fire District, Lyons Rural Fire District, Gates Rural Fire Protection District, Jefferson Fire District, Santiam Ambulance, Marion County Fire District #1, Scio Fire District, Albany Fire Department, Silverton Fire District, Mt.
