SALEM, Ore. - The Oregon Office of State Fire Marshal (OSFM) is hosting a series of town hall meetings about the development of the defensible space code, timelines, and opportunities for community input.
The OSFM is working through a public process with the Oregon Defensible Space Code development committee, a diverse group of stakeholders, to develop a set of standards based on the framework established through SB 762. In addition, to continue gathering public input from Oregonians, the OSFM is hosting a series of 17 town hall meetings across Oregon.
The upcoming meetings are in Hood River, the Dalles, John Day, and Burns. The dates and times for each session are:
- September 12 at 5:30 – 7 p.m., Hood River, Hood River Inn – The Gorge Room, 1108 E Marina Way
- September 13 at 5:30 – 7 p.m., The Dalles, Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum – MJ Murdock Theater, 5000 Discovery Drive
- September 14 at 5:30 – 7 p.m., John Day, Canyon City Community Hall – 2nd Floor Theater, 129 S Washington St, Canyon City
- September 15 at 5:30 – 7 p.m., Burns, Harney County Fairgrounds – Memorial Building, 69660 S Egan Ave
