How Your Fire District is Governed

The Fire District is governed by a five member elected citizen Board of Directors who serve four-year terms. These five people must reside or own property within the District boundaries and are elected to their positions by residents of the District.

The Board of Directors are your elected representatives.

It’s their responsibility as your elected representatives to consider every policy decision, insuring it reflects your best interests.  All Fire District Board meetings are open to the public and you are encouraged to attend.  The agenda is posted at the Stayton Post Office on the Friday prior to each Board meeting.

Regular Meeting Calendar

The Board of Directors meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 7:30 PM, with the location announced on the agenda.  In March the Board meets in Mehama, in July at Elkhorn, in September at Marion, all other regular meetings are scheduled at the Stayton Station.
