Make a Difference Without the Gear – Join Our Fire District Support Team

You don’t need to fight fires to be a hero.

The Stayton Fire District Support Team is made up of dedicated community members just like you — people who want to serve their community in meaningful ways outside of emergency response. Whether you're behind a camera, organizing events, or helping with fire prevention education, your contribution directly strengthens our mission to protect lives and property.

How You Can Serve

As a valued member of our Support Team, you’ll play a vital role by assisting with non-emergency responsibilities, including:

  • Clerical and administrative support
  • Community event planning and coordination
  • Fire prevention education and outreach
  • Photography and media documentation
  • Sewing and uniform repair
  • Meal preparation for training or emergency incidents
  • Department historian and records assistance
  • Social media and digital communication support

Who Can Join?
 

Basic Requirements: 

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Hold a valid Oregon Driver's License
  • Clean driving record and no criminal background
  • Ability to attend regular meetings, events, and training as needed


Application Process:

  1. Submit a District Interest Card or complete the form below
  2. Participate in a Board of Review
  3. Interview with the Fire Chief
  4. Complete a background check, DMV record review, and drug screening
