Being a Volunteer Firefighter is a great way for community members to help their community and learn skills that will last a lifetime. Stayton Fire District’s Volunteer firefighters provide fire protection, rescue and medical response from four stations located in the City of Stayton, and the communities of Mehama, Marion, and Elkhorn. You can make a difference - become part of the team and fulfill your need to help others!
Fire/EMS Program Options:
Firefighter/EMS members respond to Structure Fires, Wildland Fires, Emergency Medical Service (EMS) incidents, Vehicle Accidents, Rescues, Public Assists, and Hazmat incidents.
Non-Entry Firefighter/EMS members respond to all incidents but do not work in areas that require wearing a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).
Water Tender Operator members drive water tender to fire scenes and assist with water supply operations.

Basic Requirements:
- You must be over 18 years of age
- Live or work within the District or within 3 miles of a District fire station
- Have no record of a criminal background
- Have a clean driving record
- Have a valid Oregon Drivers License
- Be able to attend 50% of drills in a quarter
- Be in good health
- Have a desire to help
